Iván Jaime is a 22-year-old left-winger who plays for FC Famalicão. The Spanish player came through Málaga’s youth academy before joining FC Famalicão for €500.000 in the summer of 2020. Iván Jaime was a rotational player in the first two seasons but was a key player for FC Famalicão in 2022/23, having 11 goal contributions in 24 matches. The Spanish player could be on the move this summer, as there has been reported interest from FC Porto. FC Famalicão have reportedly set a price tag of €12.000.000.
Standing at 1.80 meters with an average build, Iván Jaime has a good frame for a left-winger. The former Spanish youth international has good speed on the first meters whilst also being able to maintain that speed over long distances. He changes directions while sprinting really well, while also displaying good balance and movement. These attributes combined allow him to glide past opponents. Iván Jaime has decent strength in shoulder-to-shoulder duels and has average ability in aerial duels, but that is not that important for a winger. He does well to work hard in transition but is not a great defender/presser. Though, he shows great persistence and aggressiveness in defensive duels even though he is sometimes a bit too eager to win back possession.
Iván Jaime loves to dribble and take on opponents. He likes to start his dribbles in the midfield third, trying to take on multiple opponents before either creating a shooting opportunity or running into crowded areas and losing the ball. The Spanish winger can get lost in his own dribbles at times, displaying tunnel vision while dribbling and also sometimes getting into trouble on his own half. Though, he is a strong dribbler and can create shooting opportunities out of nowhere. Iván Jaime draws a lot of fouls while dribbling too. The Famalicão player has decent but not good vision. He sometimes displays tunnel vision in the final third as he does not pick out the right passes and attempts to take on an opponent instead. The winger is capable and likes to play quick combinations down the centre, displaying his good close control and one-touch play in tight areas. Iván Jaime has really good finishing, he strikes the ball really well and displays great confidence and composure shooting from both close range. However, his long shots can be a bit inconsistent.
Iván Jaime has been a very bright spark for FC Famalicão but there are enough attributes he needs to work on if he wants to make it at a higher level. He can create chances and shooting opportunities out of nowhere, but also often displays tunnel vision in the final third, especially when dribbling. Iván Jaime could help Porto to unlock the many clubs who sit deep in Liga Portugal, but I think €12.000.000 is a bit too steep for a player of his (current) level. In short, Iván Jaime is one of the most fun players to watch in Liga Portugal, but signing him for €12.000.000 would be very risky and I think there are better options out there for that price.
