N’Diaye is an average height winger with a slender build who played left winger for Kickers Emden in this match. His listed position is attacking midfielder and preferred a more inside position from the wing while utilizing his dominant right foot. N’Diaye was not any sort of dominant athlete and had average pace for the level, not impressive but worked to beat Lübeck’s slow right back. He was one of few players to flash in this match on either side and was by far the youngest. N’Diaye has 3 goals and 3 assists in the league thus far and based on this performance there should be more to come.
Off ball, N’Diaye utilizes intelligent movement despite only average pace and agility. He moves into space to come to the ball, but that is not his strong suit due to decision-making issues under pressure. He is not the most technical on ball and struggles to create for himself. This points to his ability us a runner down the left, as he made plenty of overlapping runs in support of central players. N’Diaye received through passes going down the left a couple times and was able to use his pace to round his fullback with his right. On one occasion, he was able to round his marker and enter the box with that right foot and as he cut inside dribbled to his left and played a low cross to the middle box, but it was cleared.
N’Diaye was an active presser and began to track back deeper on defense as Kickers Emden attempted to soften the blows from each goal—the back line was getting broken down too easily. Tracking back deep, he played a sort of wingback role but mainly served as an extra body defensively. Most of his defensive work came pressing high which he was more than willing to pursue. His pace made his impact on the press suffer, though, as he did not close out quickly enough to effect possession or passing.
Rating – B2
The German attacker may not have had the most impressive performance, especially under the circumstances, but he flashed potential as a creator off ball and on the press. N’Diaye’s athleticism will limit his ceiling, but there is room for him to grow at Regionalliga level. With some improvement he could catch the eye of a 3. Liga club. One way he could do so more quickly is by gaining more playing time on the right wing as his high tempo wide wing play would be better suited on that side. Crosses and dribbling wide with his dominant foot would fit him more stylistically than the left winger role he played in this match that he applied that skillset to.
