Henry Muhoozi is a 14-year-old Ugandan midfielder born in July 2011 who currently plays for Amus College School in the Uganda Secondary Schools Sports Association (ASSSU) and represents Uganda at U17 level. This report is based on his performances during the 2026 U17 Africa Cup of Nations, where he played an important role in helping Uganda secure qualification for the U17 World Cup. Despite being one of the youngest players in the tournament, Muhoozi played every available minute across Uganda’s four matches and contributed one goal.

Standing at a relatively small stature with a compact frame, Muhoozi’s physical profile is still far from complete and will likely change significantly as he develops. However, his current build suits several aspects of his game. He possesses strong acceleration, sharp changes of direction, and a low centre of gravity that allows him to evade pressure and remain difficult to dispossess. His stamina and work rate stand out, enabling him to cover large areas of the pitch and maintain a high level of involvement throughout matches. While he can struggle against stronger opponents in direct physical contests, he often compensates through tenacity, balance, and intelligent body orientation.

Muhoozi primarily operated as the right-sided midfielder in a double pivot (4-2-3-1) but also showed the qualities to perform as a lone holding midfielder or a box-to-box midfielder. In possession, he is particularly effective during transition phases, where his anticipation and quick reactions allow him to convert defensive recoveries into progressive actions. His ball carrying is arguably his strongest technical asset, combining close control, agility, and a high step frequency to drive through pressure and advance play. His passing is generally functional, and he is comfortable linking play through quick combinations, although his long-range distribution and final-ball execution, particularly under pressure, remain areas for development. His first touch is reliable overall, but he remains noticeably stronger on his right foot.

Out of possession, Muhoozi’s game is built around anticipation, intelligent positioning, and relentless work rate. He consistently places himself in positions to recover second balls, intercept passes, and disrupt opposition attacks before they fully develop. Rather than relying on physical dominance, he defends through intelligence and timing, making him an effective ball-winner despite his size. His ability to cover ground and influence multiple defensive phases makes him an unpredictable midfielder to play against. As he progresses through higher levels, improving his ability to absorb contact and compete in physical duels will become increasingly important.

Overall, Muhoozi profiles as an intelligent, nimble, and highly energetic midfielder capable of impacting both defensive and transitional phases of play. His combination of anticipation, mobility, ball-winning ability, and ball carrying makes him an intriguing long-term prospect. Given that he is still only 14 years old, his physical development will be a major factor in determining his long-term trajectory. A move to a development-focused environment in leagues such as Belgium, Denmark, Austria, or Sweden could suit his profile well. While it remains early to place a definitive ceiling on his potential, he currently projects as a player capable of developing into a reliable starter for a strong club in a top 5-8 European league.
