Pascal Fallmann is a 22-year-old Austrian right-back for Erzgebirge Aue in German 3. Liga. The former U21 international has made 30 appearances in the league to date, picking up 8 yellow card bookings while providing a goal and 4 assists. In the Sachsenpokal, Fallmann has 2 goals and 3 assists in 4 appearances. Prior to joining the Violets in 2024, he spent the majority of his youth development with Rapid Vienna, who gave him his first foray in German football on a loan spell to SC Freiburg II in 2023.

Physically, Fallmann is very tall for a full-back, standing at 1.87 m with a lanky yet muscular frame. This gives him long strides to cover ground easily, especially on recoveries. It also allows him to be physical in duels and to shrug off pressure. His movement is a bit clumsy in moments, and his aerial timing needs work to take better advantage of his stature. He accelerates with some explosion and solid reaction time, though his change of direction and agility have room for improvement. Fallmann has the physical base clubs desire, but has some limitations that will affect his ceiling.

In possession, Fallmann consistently rapidly releases his passes in two touches after a proactive scan, typically in ground distribution. This is exemplified in both his ball-retentive and progressive actions, unlocking snappy decisions in combination, which set up his pass and run opportunities, and when breaking lines up the right flank. He is not just effective at driving play forward with his passing, he is a strong progressive carrier, too, using his long strides to glide ahead. His first touch under pressure is inconsistent, though, and he tends to force progressive actions, passing into pressure or overhitting his target. Fallmann needs to play with more ball control and improved timing. In terms of long passing, he displays range not just in breaking lines but on switches, too. On the contrary, his crossing lacks precision and has inconsistent weight. Additionally, he is not opposed to using his weaker left foot, particularly at short-range, so hopefully, he builds more confidence in that aspect. Off the ball, he is effective both on overlaps and underlaps, whether trailing on the counter or getting ahead of teammates in combination, due to quick reactions and a developing sense for timing.

Out of possession, Fallmann is an aggressive defender who steps up from his line with strong anticipation. He is precise enough when both stand and slide tackling, though he is prone to fouling if he comes in late or overcommits. These tackles usually come in upon his aggressive closeouts and at the end of recoveries. His closeout angles can be poor when going wide, and his over-aggression can leave space in behind for quicker decision makers to pass easily into as he arrives in their space. When set in a 1v1, he is disciplined and uses his length to his advantage to contain and sometimes block. He covers ground well during recoveries, but his tracking gets inconsistent into his own third, sometimes losing a marker at the back post. If he can tone down the aggression just a touch while sharpening his timing and awareness, Fallmann could develop into a formidable defender.

Fallmann is an aggressive full-back who would be best-suited to a counterattacking team that plays a narrow back four. His in possession skillset suggests he will thrive more as a defensive full-back completing a three with two centre-backs, considering his limits as a crosser. His defensive and physical profiles are what will get clubs calling his agent once his contract expires in June, though. What will determine his ceiling is how much he improves his timing with and without the ball, and if he can regulate his natural aggression. If these are refined, top Eredivisie sides will have all the reason to recruit him after some time in 2. Bundesliga.
