Iván Franco

  • Nationality: Paraguayan
  • Age: 20
  • Date of birth: 16-04-2000
  • Club: Club Libertad Asunción
  • Career: Club Libertad Asunción (Y), Club Libertad Asunción
  • Position: Attacking Midfield
  • Preferred foot: Right

Ivan Franco played as a left midfielder in the first half, but moved more centrally in the second half. He often stayed close to the sideline in the first half and did not get involved much from this position, but could show his qualities better in a more central role. He is capable of making good runs into the box as he times his runs very well. This allowed him to create a chance to shoot but he wasted the chance as he did not fully connect with the ball. His off the ball movement was very clever and effective and he did well to get into space often.

He did well to hold off his opponents at times using his good acceleration and balance. Franco was capable of drawing fouls quite easily and liked to provoke his opponent, awaiting a defensive action by his opponent to then make his move. The Paraguayan midfielder sometimes struggled on the ball as he had a couple of loose touches, but showed good ball control overall, which he did in the previous match as well. He timed his through pass very badly at one occasion and did not create any chances for his teammates in this match.

Rating – A1

Ivan Franco is a very intelligent player who could make a step up in the South American leagues if he is being played in the right role.

Sebastián Ferreira

  • Nationality: Paraguayan
  • Age: 22
  • Date of birth: 13-02-1998
  • Club: Monarcas Morelia, on loan at Club Libertad Asunción
  • Career: Olimpia Asunción (Y), Independiente FBC (L), Monarcas Morelia, Club Libertad Asunción (L)
  • Position: Striker
  • Preferred foot: Right

Sebastián Ferreira came on as a sub at half-time and made a good impression, while also scoring the equalizer. He positioned himself against the back line of Guaraní often, but also dropped deeper at times to support the build-up. From this position, he managed to turn his opponent well using his good agility and acceleration. Ferreira looked very comfortable and confident on the ball and looked quite physically strong on the ball. He made some good runs in behind and scored from one. His positioning in the final third was really good and he definitely knew how to finish a chance. However, he did not get involved in the second half as often as he would have liked to.

Rating – A1

In the end, there was not that much to say about his match as he did not get involved too much, but made a good impression when he did get on the ball.
