Lucas Beltrán

Player profile:
- Nationality: Argentina
- Age: 20
- Date of birth: 29/03/2001
- Current Club: River Plate
- Position: Striker
- Preferred foot: Right
Lucas Beltran lined up next to Luciano Gondou which allowed him to have more freedom to participate in build up play. In the first moments of the match, he has initiated the press by River Plate. This pressure allowed him to recover the ball in dangerous areas high up the field.
He drops deeper to offer support to the midfield. He positioned himself between the lines and freed up space for other attacking players to exploit. He holds the ball up well and can beat his man. He also tries to stretch the defence by making runs behind the defensive line. His ability to keep the ball allows him to hold it in the last meters in order to wait for the support of a partner when he was more isolated and got in behind.
His movement was good but without the support of a partner, he could find himself isolated and he was not able to make these attacks end with good chances.
Rating: 2
He brings an intensity which disturbs the opposing team and allows him to vary his game in build up play and create danger. He is one of the best players on this U20 team and should see his playing time with the first team increase in the coming months.
