Testimonial Page

At Target Scouting, our mission is to help people enter the football industry by utilising our strong platform and wide reach to provide aspiring scouts with the opportunity to showcase their work and gain visibility. We are proud of the reputation and following we have built over the years and are excited to continue down this path. Many of our writers have secured roles as professional scouts in the football industry. This illustrates the real opportunities that can come from being part of our community. With this page, we aim to showcase some examples of the success stories of our former writers (as per 29 September 2025).

Luke Griffin – Technical Scout at Leicester City

When Jeroen and I started Target Scouting in 2020, I was still figuring out my goals and whether I believed I could make a career within football. Writing for and managing Target Scouting helped me make this realisation and made me very driven. Scouting takes a lot of time and practise and writing for Target Scouting gave me the outlet to learn my craft. It helped me massively with building my knowledge of players and developing an understanding of different leagues. I wrote about players then that have become relevant for my work several years later. It allowed me to write a lot of reports over a short time, replicating some of the demands of the job and my reports were constantly improving.

Jeroen Tegelaers – Scout at Prime11

Starting Target Scouting together with Luke Griffin was one of the best decisions of my life, as I believe Target Scouting has played a direct role in almost every opportunity I have had in the football industry. Not only has it given me many positive memories, but it has also helped me learn a great deal about the football industry, as well as develop scouting and management skills. When you compare my first report to my last report for this website, it illustrates the major improvement I made by writing for this platform and learning from other aspiring scouts. I am proud of the reputation we have built with Target Scouting, as to this date, we continue to receive compliments from important people in the football industry. Currently, I work for Prime11, where I combine video and live scouting.

Josse van Bakel – Senior Video Scout at PSV Eindhoven

Target Scouting has played a huge role in my journey as a football scout, which always felt like something very unrealistic. It was the perfect platform for me to practice and showcase my skills in analyzing talent and turn my notes into structured scouting reports. Target Scouting not only gave me the opportunity to grow but also to connect with others who shared the same passion. After writing for a while, I got the opportunity to become a youth scout at Fortuna Sittard, where I gained invaluable experience. Currently, I am proud to continue that journey at PSV as a senior videoscout. I would advise anyone who is taking their first steps into football, or has the ambition to do so, to write for Target Scouting.

Gilles Nuyttens – Scout at AFC Ajax

I wrote for Target Scouting from January 2023 to June 2023. Although it was only six months, it proved to be an excellent starting point for building a career in football. After Target Scouting, I got my first opportunity in the football world at OH Leuven, and I have now been scouting for Ajax for over two years. What makes Target Scouting so special is the freedom you are given. You can focus on your favorite niche market or look worldwide and explore new football cultures. For example, I wrote reports on matches in the Bundesliga, the Superliga, AFCON U20, and even the Future Cup U17. These are just a few examples, illustrating how broad and varied the matches I covered were. Thanks to this variety, I learned about many different playing styles and football cultures, which continues to benefit me today. For me, Target Scouting was the ideal platform to begin my journey: a place where you can grow and take your first steps toward a career in football. All credit goes to Jeroen and Josse for their trust in young scouts and for making this platform possible.

Craig Bradley – First-Team Scout at Derby County

Target Scouting played a significant role in my journey into football and remains a proud part of my CV to this day. My first role in football was a voluntary video scouting position with Velez CF. From there I moved to Exeter City’s academy and then onto Derby County, in a first team role. Having my work for Target Scouting as part of my portfolio gave me credibility and confidence in early discussions with these clubs. Beyond encouraging my report writing, Target Scouting gave me access to fellow scouting enthusiasts that, without knowing, acted somewhat as a support network. The increased number of people reading my reports added to my engagement and feedback received. Thank you, Target Scouting!

Jakub Szewczyk – Scotland Scout at the Polish FA & Video Scout at Majora Sports

I wrote for Target Scouting from April 2022 to January 2023. I’ll be forever grateful to Jeroen, Josse and Target Scouting for believing in me and allowing me to write for TS. Here, I learned the fundamentals of scouting, the importance of psychology in elite football, and had the opportunity to work with some great people who will go far in football. Without this opportunity to become an expert in a niche and the platform to showcase my work, I wouldn’t have been able to build my network as effectively or attract the attention of certain people who have helped me progress further in my career. Target Scouting is a wonderful place to develop as a scout, and I would wholeheartedly recommend joining the team. If you’re still unsure, compare my early reports to my latest ones to see how much you can learn at TS.

Adam Baker – Lead Scout for Emerging Talent at FC Midtjylland

I began writing for Target Scouting in August 2022 and did so through until June 2023, at which point I joined FC Midtjylland as a scout on an initial internship. I then joined the club permanently as Lead Scout for Emerging Talent – a role that I am still in currently. At Target Scouting, both the platform provided and the opportunity to develop were key in my progression as a scout, aiding me hugely in getting to where I am today. I’m not the first writer from TS to find their way into the professional game and I certainly won’t be the last!

Petros Kariatoglou – Head of Scouting at AEL FC

My name is Petros Kariatoglou and I first wrote for Target Scouting in July 2022, before getting my first scouting job as a Video Scout for 360 Scouting. Since then I’ve worked as a Casual Scout in Greece for Standard de Liege, Performance Analyst and Scout at Athens Kallithea FC and now work as Head of Scouting at AEL FC in Super League 1. Target Scouting was a significant stepping stone for me into the scouting world and helped me structure and showcase my work to a larger audience.

Michal Wojcik – First-Team Scout at FK Pardubice

I started writing for Target Scouting in February 2024, and it has definitely helped me in my scouting career. It opened multiple doors for me, from receiving possible job opportunities to expanding my network within the football world. It also improved the way I write and present my reports. Some of the reports I wrote were even used as examples of my work when applying for jobs or when speaking to people, which shows that respected clubs possible read our analyses when assessing a player. And when they do, they see our names and can reach out to us. Since joining Target Scouting, I’ve had several opportunities in football. Currently, I’m working with FK Pardubice in the Czech Chance Liga as a First Team Scout, a role I’ve held for several months now.

Alék Sanchez – Opposition Analyst at FK Pardubice

I wrote for Target Scouting between December 2024 and March 2025, and soon after I joined FK Pardubice in the Czech top tier as a Set-Pieces Analyst. I am still at the club, now working as an Opposition Analyst while continuing to focus on set-pieces. Target Scouting played an important role in this transition, giving me the chance to analyse leagues I was less familiar with and broadening both my knowledge and adaptability. I already had experience managing databases and structuring my calendar, but Target Scouting helped me take both to a higher level. This experience also allowed me to be surrounded by highly talented scouts, from whom I learned valuable insights and ‘tricks’ that I still apply today. Altogether, it sharpened my practical skills and gave me the confidence to take the step into professional football analysis.

Jonathan Stoop – Formerly at NK Domzale

I spent over a year writing for Target Scouting during the formative stages of my journey into football. Since then, I’ve had the opportunity to work for multiple European clubs and I credit my experience at Target Scouting as key to my development as a scout and analyst. Target Scouting gave me a platform to share my work publicly and receive feedback that has been fundamental to refining and improving my quality of work. Supportive guidance and the freedom to test new ideas has helped me understand how I can provide value and produce insights. I’m grateful for the lessons learned during my time at Target Scouting and their lasting impact on how I operate within professional club environments.
