Seydou Sano is a terrific young ball playing defender, at approximately 194 cm tall his height means that he is easily able to outjump his opponent. He possesses good speed and explosive power, he shows good pace when accelerating and is able to make vital recovery runs in game. He is a very aggressive player which means he enjoys defending on the front foot. He’s strong in the tackle and wins over 70% of his duels per 90. In terms of his physical ability the only area of his game that needs any real improvement is his agility, if he was able to move a little easier and get his body orientation into more optimal positions it would be beneficial to his overall game.

He possesses an extensive passing range which he frequently uses, he is primarily left footed but he appears reasonably comfortable using his right foot if needed. Sano’s long passes are fantastic and he is able to pick out his target from range, or he can switch the play which often leads to his team being able to transition into attack. Sano is very comfortable with the ball at his feet and is more than capable of carrying the ball out of defence and is able to dribble past an opponent while retaining possession. 

The Senegal U20 defender showcases a willingness to put his body on the line, he is willing to block shots and works to prevent the opposition generating goal scoring opportunities. His positioning is excellent, Sano can constantly be found in the right place and the right time to make vital interceptions. He rarely goes to ground to make a tackle but when he does, for the most part they are accurate and clean so he regains possession of the ball. 

Sano is a decent communicator, perhaps this area of his game needs improvement, it would be beneficial to his team if he was a little more vocal. His decision making is very good and he is incredibly calm and composed. Overall Seydou Sano is unflappable and a very talented ball playing defender.
