Carlos Palacios played in a free role on the right, but played on the left in the second half. He showed again that his positional understanding is good. He dropped deep while sticking close to the sideline or move inside when the full-back would push higher up the pitch. The Chilean winger proved that he has great athletic ability when he made this perfect touch.

Carlos Palacios does well to provide width for his team and was always looking to move between the lines to get into position for him to create chances. He occasionally carried the ball forward well and showed that he was strong in the duels as he managed to hold off his opponent a few times. Palacios managed to draw fouls quite well which helped Union Espanola to progress further up the pitch at times. He opened up passing lanes well and had a good handling speed. Palacios tracked back well and was very disciplined throughout the game.

The youngster has good spatial awareness and vision in the final third. His technical ability is great and he possesses great calmness on the ball. He spreads play well when playing in a central role and his versatility could be of great use for European clubs. Palacios scanned well before receiving and is a very creative player in general.

Overall, the Chilean has a lot of potential and can grow a lot. He is still very raw but the potential is there.

Rating – A1

Could make a move to Europe but probably should go somewhere where he can get minutes for the U23 or U21. He has a lot of potential though.
