In this important match in the race for Europa League qualification for next season, Fenerbahçe suffered a lot because of the lack of creativity. Most of the attacking situations were generated by long balls from Simon Valette in the defence. Fenerbahçe had the possession, but failed to create anything with it. On the contrary, Sivasspor were incisive, in their attacking play, taking advantage of individual errors from Fenerbahçe’s defence. Emre Kılınç was the MOTM, he disturbed the defence with his speed and agility with and without the ball. He won the penalty for the first goal and scored the goal which secured the victory.

Ömer Faruk Beyaz

Player Profile:
- Nationality: Turkish
- Age: 16
- Date of birth: 29/08/2003
- Club: Fenerbahçe
- Career: Fenerbahçe (Y)
- Position: Attacking Midfield
- Secondary Position: Right Wing / Centre Midfield
- Preferred foot: Left
In this match, Ömer Faruk Beyaz played as an attacking midfielder and played behind Vadat Muriqi.
He suffered from the team’s lack of control, as most of the attacking situations came from long balls. This kind of play did not permit Beyaz to influence the attacking play. In his movement, he was very lively, providing an option in wide positions or between the lines, but his teammates’ incapacity to find him did not permit him to see a lot of the ball. His movements could have put him in great positions to create danger if his teammates played through him. With this will to only play the ball through the air with Muriqi to drive the ball forward, Ömer Faruk Beyaz only had 22 touches in this match. With Muriqi playing in support and getting in a deeper position to get the ball, Ömer Faruk Beyaz compensated for the movements of the striker by moving higher up the pitch to play as a striker but with this lack of control from the team he could not take advantage of the space created. In other words, Beyaz had a lot of good movements but he didn’t get found often enough.
In the second half, he took the responsibility to occupy a deeper position to seek the ball and try to create something. His great ball control and acceleration permitted him to make a great run that started on the halfway line, getting past a few players to get into the final third and win a set piece. He showed great awareness with the ball at his feet, and kept the ball next to his left foot to run with it, varying the rhythm of his run to dominate space and progress. In this match, he was the player who had the most dribbles (3 dribbles completed from 4 attempted). He does not have a strong physical structure, to compensate for this aspect he has great agility which allows him to quickly react in front of his defenders to escape from their marking. He positions his body cleverly to protect and limit the intervention of the defenders who try to challenge him.
In his first start, Ömer Faruk Beyaz was not really helped by his teammates, his great talent allowed him to stand out individually, but with the lack of support he struggled to have an impact in the final third. He played 62 minutes and showed interesting sequences with the ball. His teammates need to play with him, in a match like this where the team lacked creativity, he has the ability to create and change the game.

Ferdi Kadıoğlu

Player Profile:
- Nationality: Dutch / Turkish
- Age: 20
- Date of birth: 07/10/1999
- Club: Fenerbahçe
- Career: ESA Rijkerswoerd Academy (Y), NEC Nijmegen Formation (Y), NEC Nijmegen
- Position: Attacking Midfield
- Secondary Position: Left Wing / Right Wing
- Preferred foot: Right
In this match, he started out on the left wing. He was active in the front of the attack, varying his positioning either on the left, through the middle or on the right. He ended the match on the right side of the attack.
At first his activity was mostly on the left side. He interchanged his positioning between a wide position and half-space position to vary the option in the attack. His technical ability permitted him to hold and keep the ball against the defenders and find Hasan Ali Kaldırım to get into the final third. When he did not have support, he could get into a 1v1 situation to directly confront the defender, in this left position, he mostly cut inside to get on to his right foot. He can easily combine with his teammates to alternate between individual and collective play to create an advantage.
When he occupied an inside position, his great ball control permitted him to dominate the ball in the pressure zone to retain possession high up the pitch. His great agility permits him to trick his opponents and create space before touching the ball, this quality allows him to gain an advantage easily with his first touches. In a game where he had difficulty when matching up physically with his opponents, his great game vision and passing ability permitted him to find his partners in great positions. He was precise in his passing game, in short and long passes. He was at the origin of good moves. At the end of the match, he made a great cross for Allahyar Sayyadmanesh who could have scored the equalizing goal if he did not miss his header. In a team that lacked creativity he created situations that could have lead to scoring but it was not enough. With 2 key passes, he made the third most in the match.
After Ömer Faruk Beyaz left the field, Ferdi Kadıoğlu vacated his left side to occupy an attacking midfielder role, alternating his movements between the centre and the right side. In this match where his team had a lot of possession, the team suffered in attacking transitions and the defensive contribution from Ferdi Kadıoğlu was limited. His lack of impact at the physical level hindered his ability with the ball at his feet at times. Occasionally, he struggled to retain possession and beat his man to get into key areas to create danger.
Ferdi Kadıoğlu only started his 6th match of the season. He is lively and his movements permit him to offer options for him and his teammates in the final third. He can adapt his positioning, creating 1v1s in wide positions or offering support from a more central position. His great ball control and technical ability permitted him to hold the ball in key areas and play alone or collectively with his partners in tight spaces. He needs to improve his physical ability to match up to the intensity of his opponents.
