Jan Knapik
Player Profile:
- Nationality: Czech
- Age: 19
- Date of birth: 11/12/2000
- Club: FK Teplice
- Career: FK Teplice
- Position: Centre Back
- Secondary Position: Defensive Midifeld
- Preferred foot: Right
Playing in midfield this game, Knapik stands out on the pitch for his size. He’s 6’4″ with a good frame playing as the defensive midfielder in a 4-1-4-1 formation. He was surprisingly fast over short distances and reacted to danger well making some good interceptions and able to break up play. He was strong in the air, making a lot of clearances but otherwise didn’t utilise his large physical advantage enough in open play. He stayed back at all times, rarely pushing into the final third, staying in front of the centre halves, who he covered well if they pushed forward. He was brave in the challenge and constantly scanned the pitch. Although he had okay speed over short distances and good deceleration, he had poor agility and change of direction
Knapik was largely ignored by his team in possession, he adjusted his position a lot and offered support but wasn’t used. When he was on the ball, he had an inconsistent touch and attempted simple passes to the nearest teammate who could then play forwards. He also tried once longer pass which went behind the line into space but to no one. He didn’t travel with the ball and didn’t open his hips enough and lacked accuracy on very simple passes.
Rating – B2
Great physically but harms his athleticism and despite being intelligent and breaking up play quite well, he was poor and uncomfortable on the ball but could be affective for Lechia if played to his strengths and can improve on the ball.
Patrik Zitny
Player Profile:
- Nationality: Czech
- Age: 21
- Date of birth: 21/09/1999
- Club: FK Teplice
- Career: FK Teplice
- Position: Attacking Midfield
- Secondary Position: Right Wing
- Preferred foot: Left
Playing on the wing, Zitny was small and slim, standing at 5’9″. He played on the right in the first half and then moved to the left wing. He was agile with a low centre of gravity and a very good burst of pace. He roamed a bit, moving centrally as the target man moved wide to receive throw ins and support play. He attempted runs in behind but were fairly unconvincing and his positioning was poor and was largely inaccessible to teammates and could have made more effort to open passing lanes and find space within the defensive block. But instead he was fairly quiet and didn’t support his team enough at times. He worked harder out of possession though, tracking back well and pressing well in wide areas.
He showed good technical ability with good right control, and clean first touches. He had quick reactions and evaded tackles well a few times. He could use both feet to dribble in tight spaces well but in releasing the ball he was very right footed. He also got the assist for the second goal with a right footed chipped ball/cross into the box from just outside the box fairly centrally to the back post.

The former Russian U21 international played in midfield in this game before being substituted at half time. He’s 6’4″ and came across as quite uncoordinated and immobile. He was an awkward mover and quite slim. He was strong in the air in midfield against smaller opposition, he was strong, using his body and showed aggression, picking up a yellow card trying to shield the ball. He supported the attack a bit but lacked intensity, not really breaking out of a jog. He played simple passes with average technique and took some heavy touches. He tried a nice throughball into the box which was cut out.
