Noah Katterbach played left back during this match. He mostly had a defensive function during the match, he didn’t bring a lot of support in attack, mainly playing in a deeper position. With this lower position, he was focused on his defensive contribution. He was strong in duels, with 10 duels won. He also made 7 tackles, the best total for a player during this match.

He made good defence but he was against one of the best Mainz’s players during this match, Ridle Baku. He was isolated in front of a dynamic Baku who created danger with his pace. Noah Katterbach wasn’t able to stop Baku and in the first goal situation he made a mistake in his positioning, this mistake allowed Baku to enter in the area easily.

He is a young player who is in his first season, he shows great awareness in his defensive contribution, he can still lack maturity in some situation but this aspect will develop with experience. It would be interesting to see him with higher support in his attacking contribution to dominate his side.
