Mohamed Ihattaren

Player profile:
- Nationality: Dutch
- Age: 18
- Date of birth: 12/02/2002
- Current Club: PSV
- Career: PSV (Y) & PSV
- Position: attacking midfielder
- Secondary position: right-winger & central midfielder
- Preferred foot: left
The Dutch prodigy operated on the right side of the field and liked to drop deep to receive the ball in midfield. He likes to carry the ball inside and tries to combine with Lammers to create space. Ihattaren is very smart to draw fouls and has very good technique and ball control. His defensive contribution is below average though, but that is not that important.
Rating: A2
Ihattaren’s performance was slightly disappointing, but his talent is beyond dispute. Would like to see him stay in The Netherlands for at least one more year.
Denzel Dumfries
Player profile:
- Nationality: Dutch
- Age: 24
- Date of birth: 18/02/1996
- Current Club: PSV
- Career: Sparta (Y), Sparta, Heerenveen & PSV
- Position: right-back
- Preferred foot: right
The 24-year-old Dumfries played as a right-back and his direct opponent was Haps, who is a left-back that played as a left-winger. Dumfries is very attacking minded and seems to play on intuition rather than tactics. When he makes a run in-behind, he does not bother to track back when PSV lose the ball which gets them in problems at times.
Dumfries has a mediocre ball control and even though he is very attacking minded, he did not time his runs well and he could have done much more with the space that lied on the right side of the pitch. The Dutchman was not alert during a free kick of Feyenoord and Bozenik nearly scored.
Rating: B1
I don’t think that Dumfries is ready to play at a higher level. He lacks game intelligence and he gets his team in trouble during the times he does not bother to track back. Could fit in a low-table Premier League or Ligue 1 team.
Cody Gakpo

Player profile:
- Nationality: Dutch
- Age: 20
- Date of birth: 7/5/1999
- Current Club: PSV
- Career: PSV (Y)
- Position: left-winger
- Secondary position: right-winger
- Preferred foot: right
Cody Gakpo played as a left-winger and although his first 25 minutes were promising, he did not manage to impress me. He lacked awareness in the final third as he did not look over the ball, he lacked ball control in his dribbles and his passing in the final third was very sloppy. He scored a nice goal after a good run in-behind.
Rating: B2
Could become a good player for PSV, but I don’t rate him that highly.
Pablo Rosario
Player profile:
- Nationality: Dutch
- Age: 23
- Date of birth: 7/1/1997
- Current Club: PSV
- Career: Feyenoord (Y), Ajax (Y), Almere City (Y), Almere City, PSV (Y), PSV
- Position: defensive midfielder
- Secondary position: central midfielder
- Preferred foot: right
Pablo Rosario played as a midfielder and dropped deep in possession. He had the role to operate as a playmaker. Attacking-wise, he did not perform this role well as he played a lot of passes backwards and sidewards. Rosario sporadically played a good pass forward, but struggled to look for forward options when he was put under pressure. He showed good awareness to get into space at times.
His mobility and ball control was not good enough at times and this led to him not having good enough handling speed. This could hinder him at a higher level. In defence, he managed to close gaps to Malacia’s run at times when Dumfries was out of position.
Rating: C
I don’t think that Pablo Rosario suits the playing style of Roger Schmidt, therefore he gets this rating.
Sam Lammers

Player profile:
- Nationality: Dutch
- Age: 22
- Date of birth: 30/4/1997
- Current Club: PSV
- Career: Willem II (Y), PSV (Y), SC Heerenveen (L), PSV
- Position: striker
- Preferred foot: both
Sam Lammers showed great link-up play and dropped deep at times to support the build-up. He used his good first touch, short passing and ball control well. In the first half, he used his body very well to win duels against Marcos Senesi but in the second half Lammers faded out. However, it was still a very promising match by the 22-year-old.
Rating: A2
I think that he will breakthrough for definite next season and that he could become the revelation of the Eredivisie next season.
