A product of the Parisian youth system, Enzo Mayilla plays for AS Saint-Étienne until 2028. He is currently on loan at Aubagne FC in the National League. Despite Aubagne having the league’s smallest budget, they are overperforming in mid-table. He is a regular starter as a lone striker in a 4-3-3 or 3-4-3.

Standing at an imposing 1.95 m, Mayilla possesses the ideal frame for a target man, yet he remains notably slight on the pitch. While his height is an asset, it results in a high center of gravity that can compromise his stability and make it difficult to anchor himself or shield the ball when receiving it to his feet under pressure. Offensively, Mayilla is heavily left-foot dominant, although he has a serviceable right foot. While he’s not naturally explosive and agile in tight spaces, his mobility and long-distance pace combined with a relentless motor make him a good profile.

Mayilla’s involvement in the build-up phase remains limited due to a lack of good off-the-ball movement from Mayilla, but also because of Aubagne’s preference to play long balls. Mayilla struggles under pressure due to an average first touch and a lack of orientation, as he fails to scan before receiving. Lacking natural flair and the agility for quick driving runs, he rarely threatens defenders with individual skill, preferring a functional passing game. His ability to play in one touch remains his most effective asset. Mayilla’s true value lies inside the box, where he acts as an instinctive finisher with the intelligence to drift into pockets of space for cutbacks. A disciplined striker, he avoids low-percentage long shots to maximize his efficiency. Already a dominant aerial presence, refining his timing and precision would further elevate his profile, turning a raw physical advantage into an elite offensive weapon.

Out of possession, Mayilla is a disciplined, high-intensity forward who uses his speed and controlled aggression to cut passing lanes and force turnovers. Rather than pressing in isolation, he waits for tactical triggers to maintain team cohesion, making him highly effective within an organized structure. However, his off-the-ball contribution in the attacking phase remains a major area of concern. Mayilla is often static, making far too few runs in behind or dropping deep to offer a passing option. This immobility can be frustrating, especially given that his natural speed suggests he could be a devastating threat in behind the defensive line.

Mayilla is a well-adjusted and positive player with a reserved personality, showing no major behavioral red flags. He needs to improve his emotional regulation on the pitch to curb a tendency toward showing dissent toward officials.

While currently a raw prospect, Mayilla has the ceiling to become a reliable striker in leagues like Ligue 2, English Championship, or 2. Bundesliga. His progression depends on increasing his offensive output and off-the-ball involvement, but adding functional mass to his frame will be the real game-changer.
