Born in 2005 and pre-developed in the Paris region, Steve Ngoura joined Le Havre AC in 2019 at just 15 years old to continue his development. During the 2022–2023 season, he made his first professional appearances, picking up a few minutes with Le Havre, though not enough to truly showcase himself—around 500 Ligue 1 minutes across the 2023–2024 and 2024–2025 seasons. In January of 2025, he moved to Belgium and Cercle Brugge, where he has since established himself as the first-choice number 9. On the international stage, the tall striker has represented several French youth national teams: U17 (4 caps), U19 (11 caps, 5 goals), and U20 (13 caps, 12 goals). Due to his African heritage, he could choose to represent either Cameroon or France at senior level.

Physically, the young Frenchman is impressive. Despite standing at 1.93 m, he does not fit the traditional target-man profile limited to aerial and shoulder-to-shoulder duels. While the centre-forward is indeed powerful, with strong lower-body musculature providing excellent balance—particularly when shielding the ball—Ngoura is also very agile. He is capable of quick body feints, sharp turns with the ball, and does not hesitate to attempt a high number of dribbles, successfully completing many of them. The striker is fast, with a strong burst of acceleration, and can attack space in behind the defence. A right-footed player, he is also comfortable using his left foot, which remains fairly reliable. In aerial duels, Ngoura posts excellent statistical data; however, from observation, he has at times struggled in this area, either losing duels or lacking quality in his heading.

Beyond his physical attributes, the French forward also offers strong technical qualities. His first touch and ability to protect the ball with his back to goal are excellent, making him a key link-up player in his team’s attacking play. His lay-offs are clean, as is his ability to turn quickly and accelerate the tempo of the game. While these qualities might suggest a classic pivot role, Steve Ngoura’s technique goes far beyond that. A capable dribbler, he can beat opponents with step-overs, feints, and even more daring moves such as double touches.

The former Le Havre player often positions himself in the left half-space to seek one-on-one situations, alternating between cutting inside onto his stronger foot or driving down the outside on his weaker foot. The variety of his movements and runs adds another dimension to his already atypical profile, mixing drops into midfield, aerial targets in central areas, left half-space positioning, and runs in behind. In front of goal, however, the Cercle Brugge striker is not yet clinical enough—sometimes hesitating to shoot, being overly unselfish, or rushing his final action.

Tactically, his ability to shift between roles makes him a very interesting profile, with a skill set that could allow him to play on the left wing, as a lone striker, or in a two-man attack. In terms of work rate, the tall forward is far from passive, consistently tracking back to help his defence, winning a few balls, and easing the defensive workload of his team.

Mentally, the striker appears emotionally stable, rarely showing frustration on the pitch despite physical battles, and often accepting difficult circumstances without complaint—having already been substituted twice before half-time due to a teammate receiving a red card. Despite his role as a goalscorer, he remains rather selfless, allowing his teammates to shine as well.

In conclusion, Ngoura is still raw and is only experiencing his first real season of regular football at the professional level. At 20-years-old, he possesses impressive physical and technical qualities, combined with a solid professional mentality. All the ingredients are in place for a promising career, making him an attractive target for Ligue 1 clubs such as AS Monaco and Olympique Lyonnais.
