Pape Alioune Ndiaye

Player Profile

  • Nationality: French / Senegalese
  • Age: 22
  • Date of birth: 04/02/1998
  • Current Club: Vorskla Poltava
  • Career: Valencienne (Y), Bologna (Y), Bari (Y), Lorca Deportiva
  • Position: Centre Back
  • Secondary Position: Defensive Midfield
  • Preferred foot: Left

Firstly, Pape Alioune Ndiaye impresses with his imposing physique, indeed with his 201cm height, he is a player who automatically attracts attention on the field. He has a natural advantage in duels, his physicality gives him this dominance in and around the box to stop or challenge the forwards in aerial and ground duels. When the team was in the final third, the defensive line was formed with 3 players in defence to reduce the space to cover for the defenders, this system compensates his lack of speed to swing and cover the depth; with less space to cover, he was able to mark the forward and stop him with tackles. His height enlarges his range of action to intervene and compensate the lack of reaction due to his size.

At the technical level, he shows great ability. He breaks this image of the tall players clumsy with the ball at his feet. He has the resources to stay calm against rival pressure, able to eliminate his opponent with some skills. At the first stage of play, he uses direct play to find attackers varying between short and long passes. He showed the ability to play with both feet as well. He may lack of speed in his play with the ball, a feeling of heaviness that he must correct to play at a higher level where the tempo is higher.

Ibrahim Kane

Player Profile

  • Nationality: Malian
  • Age: 19
  • Date of birth: 23/06/2000
  • Current Club: Vorskla Poltava
  • Career: AS Bakaridjan (Y), CS Duguwolofila
  • Position: Left Back
  • Preferred foot: Left

During this match, he played as a left wing back; a position where he has more freedom to attack and to variate his position on both sides of the attack.

He is an energetic player, he brings energy in his movements with and without the ball in different phases of the game. He is always moving, offering an option to the ball carrier, he came in support in the first stages of play to receive the passes from Pape Alioune Ndiaye. He adjusted his position, finding the ball in a deep position to offer a solution in direct play. Receiving the ball, he has the agility to turn quickly and create space from the defender marking and launch the transition.

In attacking situations, he varied his position between the wide channel and the half spaces, so that he can generate indirectly and directly the depth to run over the last third. His movements with and without the ball generate attacking situation who could have been converted in goal. With the ball at his feet, his speed with the ball allows him too easily bring danger and break the lines to drive the ball forward. However, he lacked awareness in the final third to take advantage of the overloads created. He needs to increase his concentration and calm in the final ball.

Rating – A2
