Portimonense beat Gil Vicente in which was a very sloppy match. The visitors were dangerous on a few occasions but could not find the final pass. It was clear to see that it was the first match after three months of rest. Portimonense played in a 433 formation but sometimes moved to a 3-1-4-2 in possession as Junior Tavares dropped deep to play as a left central defender at times. Gil Vicente played in a 433 as well with Kraev playing as an attacking midfielder.
Lucas Fernandes

- Nationality: Brazilian
- Date of birth: 20-09-1997
- Age: 22
- Club: Portimonense
- Career: São Paulo (Y), São Paulo, Portimonense (L), Portimonense
- Position: attacking midfielder
- Secondary position: right midfielder and left midfielder
- Preferred foot: right
Lucas Fernandes played as an attacking midfielder and he was a very active player off the ball, always looking for space between the lines or in behind the defensive line. He showed that he has a good technique and that he is able to control the ball well under pressure. When he made a run in behind, he often was not found as the passing of Portimonense was very sloppy. However, he exploited the vulnerability of Gil Vicente well and he could have been very dangerous if Portimonense were less sloppy on the ball.
The Brazilian roamed over the pitch quite a bit and often drifted wide as well. He has a lot of flair on the ball, which was seen especially after he scored a long range shot. Fernandes seemed to gain a lot of confidence after he scored and played more smart passes which were often successful. However, this also led to him attempting dribbles in which he ran into busy areas and lost the ball. Lucas Fernandes is able to make quick, short turns and does not panic when he is being put under pressure.
Also, he showed good vision to play some good through passes in behind which found his teammate and nearly assisted his teammate in the second half. In a counter, he took his time which attracted the defender to close him down. This opened up a gap for his teammate and he played it into his teammate, eventually not leading to any danger. Out of possession, Fernandes played as a second striker to put pressure in a 442 and showed good acceleration to close his opponents down quickly.
Rating: A1
A sloppy performance by Lucas Fernandes but he showed enough glimpses of talent to be considered as one of the best, if not the best player of Portimonense and I think that he could be ready for the next step in his career.
Bruno Tabata

- Nationality: Brazilian
- Date of birth: 30-03-1997
- Age: 23
- Club: Portimonense
- Career: Atlético Mineiro (Y), Portimonense
- Position: right winger
- Secondary position: left winger and attacking midfielder
- Preferred foot: left
Bruno Tabata operated on the left side of the pitch and did not impress. He showed some good runs in behind but just like Fernandes, he was not found often. Tabata showed that he has a good technique and that he liked to tuck inside whenever Junior Tavares played as a left central defender and Henrique (LB) moved up the pitch. This shows that he has decent positional understanding. On the ball, Tabata showed decent changes of directions but often struggled to get past Alex Pinto.
He sporadically showed glimpses of his dribbling ability. His final pass was very sloppy in this match and he sometimes made the wrong decisions. For example, he played a through pass to the striker while he was 3 meters offside. In general, Tabata was not included in the play that much but he did not show that much promising signs on the ball. In defence, he tracked back when he should and prevented Alex Pinto from being dangerous in attack at times.
Rating: B1
Good player at this level for now, I will rewatch him though as I think he could play better on the right wing.
