Kevin De la Hoz

Player profile:

  • Nationality: Venezuelan
  • Age: 21
  • Date of birth: 15/07/1998
  • Current Club: Zamora FC
  • Career: Zamora FC (Y)
  • Position: central defender
  • Secondary position: left-back, right-back
  • Preferred foot: right

Kevin De la Hoz played as a right central defender and impressed. De la Hoz reads the game very well and managed to intercept passes, clear crosses and cover runs in-behind. He constantly looked at his opponent at crosses and managed to see where the pass would go.

On the ball, he seemed very comfortable and he did well, even though the pitch was very bad, to control the ball. Also, he made a progressive run which was good. Physically, I’ve got my questions about him, as he is only 1,74 m which is very small for a central defender.

Rating: B1

I need to rewatch him, to assess whether he maybe could play as a right-back. Defensively, he was very good, but physically, I’m not sure about him.

Darwin Matheus

Player profile:

  • Nationality: Venezuelan
  • Age: 19
  • Date of birth: 09/04/2001
  • Current Club: Zamora FC
  • Career: Zamora FC (Y)
  • Position: right-winger
  • Preferred foot: left

Darwin Matheus played as a right-winger and had a rather frustrating match. However, he showed glimpses of his ability which was enough to see that he is talented. Matheus has a great technique and keeps the ball very close to him when dribbling. He often looks to carry the ball and forces the defender to move backwards.

Matheus has good acceleration, but does not seem to be very quick in long distance. The right-winger lost possession a lot in this match, as he did not manage to find his teammates, even though he showed great vision. He opened up space for the right-back of Zamora by moving inside without the ball.

When he lost possession, he did not do much to recover possession. In general, he did not like to defend and walked back rather than sprinting to help out in defence. Also, it seemed like he was uninterested and did not care about the match that much.

Rating: A2

I definitely need to rewatch him. The only thing I can say is that he showed glimpses of his ability, but now I need to watch him more often to see if he plays better in other matches.
