Carlos Vivas

Aspectos generales del encuentro correspondiente a la tercera jornada de la Temporada 2020 de la Liga Futve, Futbol profesional Venezolano entre los equipos Deportivo Tachira FC Vs. Metropolitanos FC. Partido realizado en el estadio Pueblo Nuevo en San Cristobal, Estado Tachira, Venezuela, el 16 de febrero de 2020 (Gennaro Pascale Caicedo / Prensa Deportivo Tachira)

Player profile:

  • Nationality: Venezuelan
  • Age: 18
  • Date of birth: 04/04/2002
  • Current Club: Deportivo Táchira
  • Career: Deportivo Táchira (Y)
  • Position: central defender
  • Secondary position: right-back
  • Preferred foot: right

Carlos Vivas is a right-footed central defender that played as a left central defender. He has good pace and acceleration and managed to catch up with players running in-behind. Vivas closed the gap once when his partner in defence, Paolo Chacón, was out of position.

After a cross, Carlos Vivas stayed in the same position and was not aware of the defensive line, which meant that he was far behind the defensive line. However, this happened only once, and apart from this situation, he showed good awareness as he scanned constantly and did the right things after.

He seemed confident on the ball, but did not always do the right things as he sometimes struggled to control the ball well, which can be explained because the pitch was very bad. Vivas is only 1.82M, but in this match I did not see any problems in the defensive duels.

Rating: A2

At the age of 17 (in this match), Vivas has lots of time to improve and apart from that mistake, he seems like an okay central defender. It will be interesting to rewatch him.

Jesús Orozco

Player profile:

  • Nationality: Venezuelan
  • Age: 19
  • Date of birth: 12/02/2001
  • Current Club: Deportivo Táchira
  • Career: Deportivo Táchira (Y)
  • Position: striker
  • Preferred foot: right

Jesús Orozco played as a striker in a 4-4-2 formation. He did not impress that much, as he constantly did not seem to know where he needed to position himself or when he needed to make a run. When he got the ball, he liked to start a dribble but he lost most of these duels. He didn’t seem confident at all, which held him back at times.

Rating: C

I would like to see him play as a left-winger. He needs to be more confident.
