Target Scouting was established on April 10, 2020, by Jeroen Tegelaers and Luke Griffin. The original goal of Target Scouting was to develop an online database that would compile multiple match reports on players before the creation of player reports. After a brief break, Target Scouting resumed in December 2022, with Josse van Bakel and Jeroen Tegelaers as the co-owners. Target Scouting’s mission is to facilitate an ideal pathway into the football industry, using our established and big platform for support and visibility.
We are pleased that many of our writers have secured a role as a scout in the football industry. Our co-owners Josse van Bakel and Jeroen Tegelaers have both secured a role as a scout, with Josse van Bakel working as a senior scout for PSV Eindhoven and Jeroen Tegelaers working as a scout for Prime11. For this reason, both Josse and Jeroen are now solely mentoring the group of aspiring scouts. Aidan McHenry has taken the role as editor for Target Scouting.
To help our team focus and grow, we’ve decided to assign each contributor a specific region to cover. This will allow scouts to build a niche and gain deeper knowledge of their area. This structure also supports our long-term goal of building a global scouting network. By assigning regions, we aim to improve the consistency and depth of our reports, while ensuring broader coverage across different markets. It’s a step toward creating a more organised and professional scouting operation as we continue to grow. It will also help us create more recruitment-focused articles by giving us deeper insights into specific regions.
