Report:
Dylan Aquino is a 19-year-old left-winger who plays for Club Atlético Lanús II in the Argentinian reserves league. He made his debut for Lanús on the 17th of June in 2023 in the away match against Unión Santa Fe. Aquino has made five appearances for Lanus so far. Dylan Aquino is also part of the Argentina U-20 squad.
Standing at 1.71 meters with an average build, Dylan Aquino possesses good on-the-ball strength. He rarely gets pushed off the ball and maintains his balance well under pressure from his opponent. Dylan Aquino has a good burst of speed and can maintain that speed over longer distances. He changes directions quite quickly, displaying quick and good feints to manipulate the opponent. The Argentinian winger displays good stamina. Dylan Aquino tracks back well, although he sporadically tends to stay forward. He is an aggressive presser and can give away some cheap fouls at times.
Playing as a left-winger for Lanús II, Dylan Aquino prefers to provide width for the Argentinian side. Receiving out wide, Aquino displays an excellent first touch under pressure. He also showcases his tactical intelligence with some nice one-touch passes under pressure and good ball manipulation on his first touch. Dylan Aquino likes to take on his opponents with bravery and flair, always showcasing his confidence and persistence to keep going. The Argentinian winger is quite successful in attacking 1v1s due to his great close control, good speed, quick changes of direction and on-the-ball strength. Even though his timing is not always optimal and he tends to run into congested areas sporadically, Dylan Aquino possesses a lot of potential with his dribbling. He can dribble past his opponents on both the in- and outside, showcasing his dynamism and versatility.
Cutting inside to his stronger right foot, Dylan Aquino likes to look for a quick combination, an in-swinging cross or a shot from distance. His short passing is very clean and well-weighted. Aquino sometimes creates chances for himself after combining in tight spaces with his teammates. Dylan Aquino is very composed in front of goal, showcasing his good ball-striking and finishing technique. He can also strike the ball well from distance. Aquino’s in-swinging crossing from deeper areas on the right wing is quite inconsistent but potentially very good due to his good crossing technique. Dribbling past his opponent on the outside, Dylan Aquino can also put in decent crosses with his left foot. Aquino displays good long passing technique, switching play well under pressure. Although he times his runs in behind very well, Aquino can sometimes get caught offside as he does not pay enough attention to the opponent’s defensive line when in a stationary position.
Overall, I think that Dylan Aquino is an exciting prospect that should be scouted further. I would advise clubs such as PSV and Ajax to monitor Dylan Aquino. The winger deserves to be a regular member of Lanús’s first team. I think he has a lot of potential.
