Report:

Andy Rojas stands at 1.81m with a strong build. He has a good burst of speed and is quite quick over longer distances. Rojas changes directions quickly and has good footwork, putting opponents to the ground with his dribbling. He displays good turns of speed in attacking 1v1s. Rojas is quite strong on the ball, avoiding challenges well whilst maintaining his balance. He displays good strength in shoulder-to-shoulder duels and can hold off his opponent in physical duels with his back towards the goal. He has decent jumping reach and timing in aerial duels. Rojas sporadically displays low intensity after losing possession, but he tries to win the ball back aggressively out of possession.

Having played in multiple positions for Herediano, Andy Rojas has shown his versatility and ability to perform well in all three positions in the attack. However, I think he is at best on the left wing. Rojas’s shooting locations are decent, although he should sometimes make a better decision in the final third. He is very goal oriented and can score from tight angles, although he too often hits the ball straight at the goalkeeper currently. He strikes the ball cleanly with both feet. Rojas is composed in 1v1s with the goalkeeper and will become more efficient with his shooting and finishing as he gains experience. He can also score headers sporadically. Rojas has decent vision to spot teammates in space but his through passes are not always well-weighted. His crossing technique is above average but his delivery is inconsistent. He likes to put in in-swinging crosses from deep on the left wing. Rojas puts in good cut-backs with both feet.

Andy Rojas seems to be quite a smart player out of possession, making good, well-timed runs into the channels but also displaying good anticipation and positioning in the box. Rojas is dangerous on the counter attack with his runs and dribbling ability. He likes to take on his opponents. Andy Rojas has smart solutions under pressure, whilst his on–the-ball strength also helps him to retain the ball. He showcases good close control while ball-carrying, keeping multiple opponents busy and being capable of dribbling past them or at least winning a throw-in. Rojas has good timing in attacking 1v1s. He has a clean first touch under pressure, although his first touch is sporadically a bit bouncy. Rojas turns the right way under pressure, seemingly knowing where his opponents are. His passing under pressure is clean, showcasing his good ball retention skills.

I think that Andy Rojas has an intriguing profile, although it remains to be seen whether he can pick out the right moves in order to fulfill his potential. Belgian clubs should be attentive to his situation, as he could be a smart pick-up for plenty of clubs for a price range between €3m and €5m. He is strong on the ball, quite quick, strikes the ball well, has decent movement in the final third, is a decent dribbler and can put in decent crosses.
