Alisson Santana stands at 1.83m with an average build, having a good frame for a winger. Despite his frame, he is not the strongest in shoulder-to-shoulder duels as he sometimes tends to lose his balance when trying to evade a challenge. He also struggles to maintain his balance in duels with his back towards the goal, although he generally draws fouls well. The Brazilian winger has a good but not explosive burst of speed and displays above average speed over longer distances. He has decent changes of directions, although he tends to slow down before changing his direction. Alisson has decent changes of speed and quick feints. The winger can occasionally be switched off defensively.
Mainly playing on the right wing, Alisson loves to take on his opponents, showcasing mixed results with a potential to become a lot better. He plays with flair and bravery in attacking 1v1s but his tricks don’t always come off. Alisson too often starts from a standstill, making it harder for himself to dribble past his opponents as he displays inconsistent timing. When he makes his actions at a higher tempo and intensity, Alisson dribbles past his opponents with ease. He can be slightly predictable as he tends to slow down before changing his direction as he cuts inside to his stronger left foot. When he does stepovers he always tries to dribble past his opponent on the outside. He maintains his composure and his changes of speed sometimes help him to get past his opponent. I think he shows plenty of potential in the dribbling aspect.
Alisson’s first touch is at a decent level, although his touches can be a bit bouncy sporadically. He generally can be sloppy on the ball sporadically, not being an accurate passer or not switching play well. However, his passing technique over short and longer distances is good. The Brazilian winger mainly creates chances for his team from deeper areas on the right wing. After cutting inside to his left foot, Alisson looks for runners in behind and finds them with over the top through passes or in-swinging crosses. He creates a lot of danger with these passes and crosses, displaying excellent vision. His cut-backs and crosses with his right foot from the byline are inconsistent. He does not create much danger with his right-footed crossing. Alisson Santana can strike the ball with a lot of power from distance but sometimes does not pick the right shot location or shoots off-balance. The winger displays decent anticipation and off-the-ball movement in the box. He does not make a lot of runs in behind but is attentive to space in behind during transition.
Alisson Santana is starting more and more games for Atlético Mineiro, although he is a very raw prospect who has the potential to get a lot better. He has quite an interesting physical profile and has specific qualities that are sought after in Europe (creative, dribbler & good in-swinging crosses). The Brazilian winger needs to gain experience in Brazil before making a transfer to a top club in The Netherlands or Portugal. He has the potential to play for Europa League clubs in the top 5 leagues.
