Report:

Moises Paniagua stands at 1.69m with a slightly slim build. Despite his slightly slim build, he displays decent strength in physical duels with his back towards the goal. Paniagua is combative in 50/50 duels and wins these duels quite often. He uses his body efficiently to dribble past his opponents. He has a great burst of speed and quick directional changes, allowing him to evade pressure after recovering possession. Paniagua displays good agility too, being capable of turning away quickly from his opponents. He is not very efficient in aerial duels due to his lack of height, even though he is combative in aerial duels. Paniagua’s timing in aerial duels is average and he tends to jump under the ball often. His jumping reach is decent.

He has very nice technique, although he can be more consistent on the ball, which is to be expected at the age of only 16. Paniagua has a decent first touch under pressure with both feet but he can sometimes be a bit sloppy with his touches. He sporadically is too casual on the ball, needing too much time thinking he is alone on the pitch. Paniagua has decent close control while dribbling but can sporadically lose control over the ball. However, he draws fouls very well and successfully dribbles past his opponents regularly. Paniagua is capable of playing one-touch football in tight spaces, preferring to play short combinations to progress play when he does not try to take on his opponents. His passing over short distances is clean, although he can be slightly sloppy when he tries to switch play over longer distances. Paniagua displays good vision in the final third, spotting runners in behind well but not always being capable of executing the through pass perfectly.

Having experience playing as a striker, winger and attacking midfielder, Paniagua is a versatile player who has yet to find out what his best position is. He seems to have a knack for finding space between the lines but also in and around the box. Paniagua makes good, well-timed runs in behind and has good movement in the box. He also moves into space between the lines well deeper on the pitch, although it must be said that the spaces between the lines are very big in Bolivia. Paniagua has very good ball-striking from distance but he can still be slightly inconsistent. However, he strikes the ball with power and accuracy often. He displays decent composure in front of goal though, having an eye for his teammates but also going for his own success from time to time. Paniagua has decent decision-making in the final third. His finishing ability is at a decent level but can be slightly uncontrolled at times.

Moises Paniagua has already made his debut in the Copa Libertadores and has racked up a lot of first-team appearances already at the age of just 16. He will still grow a few centimetres and needs to build a bit more muscle to be even more efficient in the duels. His ball-striking, dribbling, vision and combativeness in duels along with his speed and quick directional changes make me believe he is an interesting target to keep an eye out for. He would be available for European teams in the summer of 2025. I think he has the potential to play for the traditional top 3 in the Dutch Eredivisie. His best position is left-winger or attacking midfielder.
