Report:
Adam Karabec stands at 1.87m with an average build. Despite his tall frame, Karabec changes directions fairly quickly. He has very good footwork in tight spaces. He has a good burst of speed and is quick over longer distances. Karabec always seems to step with power and intent. He has good deceleration and acceleration when dribbling and often seems to have that extra acceleration in his locker. He has good strength under pressure and generally is physically strong on the ball. Karabec is a decent presser, also using his physical strength and speed to win back the ball quickly.
The young Czech has been playing as a right-winger for Sparta Prague this season. He has a lot of variation in his game, although he mostly acts as a creator. Karabec sometimes likes to receive the ball in deep areas close to the touchline but can also receive the ball in the right half-space between the lines. He is dangerous in both areas and his first touch under pressure is quite good. Adam Karabec has a direct playing style, meaning that he often tries to progress the ball quickly through passes or carries. He has great vision and handles quickly under pressure, although his through passes from deep are not always well-executed. Adam Karabec likes to pass and move, continuing his run after playing a pass into the midfield or attack. He is comfortable playing one-touch football under pressure.
Adam Karabec can dribble past his opponent both ways, although he prefers to cut inside to his left foot. With his right foot, his cut-backs seemingly are put into the box blindly. Karabec has good crossing technique but his delivery is inconsistent, both from set-pieces and open play. The Czech winger generates good speed with his ball carries. He strikes the ball well from distance, hitting the ball with a lot of power and decent accuracy. Karabec finds space in the box well when he sporadically makes a run into the box. Due to his power, technique and footwork he is very good in tight spaces, being capable of finding his way past multiple opponents. However, sporadically he fails to scan before receiving. As a result, he turns into his opponent and loses the ball.
His direct playing style, combined with his physical profile, great vision and potentially great through passes make him a very interesting winger for many clubs. His skillset, also due to his physical profile, could translate to a higher level in the future. With his contract expiring at the end of next season, I think Sparta Prague will be looking to sell Adam Karabec at the end of the season if he does not renew his contract. I would advise him to move to a club like Club Brugge (Andreas Skov Olsen replacement) or Ajax (Berghuis replacement, potentially backup).
