Endrick (Palmeiras) – Scout Report

Endrick is a 16-year-old attacker currently playing for the first team of Palmeiras, after getting promoted to the first team just after his 16th birthday. The Brazilian attacker has been a stand-out performer at youth level and has recently proved that he is capable of translating that to senior football, contributing to four goals in just 180 minutes for Serie A champions Palmeiras. Endrick is deemed as one of the world’s biggest talents and has a contract with Palmeiras until 30-06-2025.

Standing at 1.73m with a somewhat stocky frame, the Brazilian attacker has incredible athleticism and physical ability. Endrick has an explosive acceleration, always beating his opponent to the ball and being able to breeze past players. The youngster is also quick over longer distances. He is extremely agile on the ball, changes directions when sprinting quickly and keeping his balance well. For someone that is not so tall, Endrick surprisingly also is pretty strong on the ball, holding off opponents well and not shying away from a 50/50 duel with the opponent. He also uses his quickness well in putting pressure on the backline. Especially for the first team, he has shown that he quickly closes down the opponent and that he is very aggressive in putting pressure on the opposition’s backline.

Endrick does well to turn away from his opponents, as his ball control and close control in the tight spaces is really good. He is very skilful and tricky in the tight spaces, also using his explosive acceleration and good changes of directions to his advantage when taking on opponents. Endrick has a good first touch with his back towards the goal, even when his opponent is leaning into him. His passing technique over both short and long distances is also good as he strikes the ball really well. The Brazilian prospect can also link-up with teammates in the tight spaces and is very comfortable with playing one-touch football in small spaces. The youngster is capable of doing the unthinkable – he has scored a bicycle kick from outside the box and has scored from near the halfway line before.

His decision-making has been inconsistent so far for the first team, but considering the fact that Endrick really wants to prove himself in his first matches for the first team, I think that is not a problem. Endrick usually has good game intelligence. The Brazilian should sometimes use his explosive acceleration more to add more elements of surprise to his runs in the box. His timing can sometimes be a bit better too. However, Endrick is one of the most talented players I have ever seen. He will become a regular starter for Palmeiras within a year and it is very likely that he will move to one of the world’s biggest teams at the age of 18. I think that Endrick will become one of the world’s best players of his generation.
